Our Italian production centre is located in Casaleggio di Novara, at the crossroads between Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria and Valle d’Aosta. This strategic location allows us to ensure maximum freshness and the best service to our customers all year long. Our Group also features another 9 fresh cut product processing plants in Europe (Spain, Germany, Switzerland and Italy).
In our highly versatile plants equipped with the latest technology, we create a wide variety of ready-to-eat salads in different formats, in bags and bowls, and fresh, ready-to-cook products. We also offer an innovative line of vegetable spreads.
We work with the main distribution chains in the Italian market, as well as Food Service.
Our capacity for innovation gives us an advantageous position to be able to continue growing together with our customers. We are constantly innovating in each stage of our production and product development processes, staying ahead of our customers’ and market needs.
We dedicate more than 1 million Euro every year to R&D and innovation. We also rely on experts from the public and private sector to develop innovative, high-quality agricultural projects, collaborating with other companies and technological centres, along with universities and renowned academic institutions.
Our group features a Centre for Agricultural Innovation (CIAM) located in Spain. Our cutting-edge technology centre conducts research in the agricultural sector and in the development of more efficient and sustainable forms of farming. The facilities include a large R&D laboratory where we experiment with new varieties to improve our products such as baby leaves and microgreens, thus providing added value. Among other research projects, we are also developing a pilot vertical hydroponic growing system project.
Food safety and quality
The concept of maximum food safety is applied throughout the chain of production, from our suppliers to the manufacturing plant to the delivery of the final product.
We adopt rigorous internal protocols and we trust in the most demanding quality brands in terms of international food safety to ensure that our products retain the highest quality and freshness.
Our plant additionally features its own quality control laboratory, where we analyse 100% of the product batches. Furthermore, we have a network of external laboratories where we conduct numerous complementary analyses.
Our quality control model places suppliers at the core of its strategy. Ensuring that our products retain the highest safety, freshness and quality starts with selecting the best raw materials. Therefore, we establish the principles of safety and quality for our suppliers through internal reference values and international standards. This way we also ensure complete product traceability, from seed to table.
All our agricultural suppliers are certified by the international Global G.A.P. standard for good agricultural practices.
We are committed to constantly minimising the impact of our activities. In our plant, we incentivise practices and improvements focused on sustainability, the efficient use of resources and the reduction of our environmental footprint. We cooperate with our suppliers and clients to optimise the transport and logistics of our products.
At the manufacturing level, we always opt for the most sustainable alternatives, introducing ecodesign criteria and using the least weight and materials possible. Seventy per cent of the plastic used in the packaging for our salad bowls comes from recycled materials and 100% of cardboard used in our packaging has obtained the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification.
We are aware that there is still a lot left to do. That’s why we are currently involved in several projects linked to the circular economy and to the use of alternative packaging made with biodegradable or biocompostable materials.
